Welcome, friends. It’s finally June, which means summer is officially here. Grab some SPF, put your OOO up, and head immediately to the closest body of water for a nap in the sunshine. That’s an order. With The Everygirl headquarters being in Chicago, we know just how important it is to make the most of every single warm weather day. But that doesn’t mean overloading your calendar—we’ve collectively embraced our soft girl era. We’re prioritizing self-care, hosting dinner parties with our friends, getting our steps in while shaking our iced coffees, and living in the moment rather than on our devices.

Even though we are committing to looking at our tech less, we still want cute backgrounds to inspire us. You’ll find our latest collection of tech backgrounds is geared toward the little moments that make the start of summer so special. With our new tech backgrounds and this song, our Nancy Meyers summer is off to a fantastic start. We hope you enjoy them! Be sure to share which background you choose by tagging us on Instagram @theeverygirl!

Free Wallpaper Backgrounds

For years, The Everygirl has been releasing monthly tech backgrounds to give your home screen a put-together, refreshed vibe. We include options for all devices, so you have choices for your phone screen, desktop or laptop, and your iPad or tablet. If you love having a calendar right on your screen to easily glance at throughout the month, we’ve got you covered—several of our backgrounds feature calendars, with options for a Sunday or Monday start. We also provide second-screen options for each tech background, so if you’re working on two screens (like a laptop and a monitor at the same time), you can have two of the same design.

When do The Everygirl Tech Backgrounds come out?

The Everygirl Tech Backgrounds are available three days before the 1st of each month, to give you plenty of time to change your screens.

How to Download Tech Backgrounds

To download from one of our monthly tech background selections, scroll through the article to find one that you love. Then, click the link to the size you wish to download to access the image and download it to your desktop.

Pro Tip: You Don’t Have to Choose Just One!

If you’re adding your tech backgrounds to a Mac, you can have your tech backgrounds rotate as often as you want. Start by downloading all of the tech backgrounds you want, and adding them to one folder. Then, navigate to the wallpaper tab in your Mac settings, and scroll down to the button that says “add folder.” Once it’s added, click the “rotate” button and frequency with which you want to shuffle the images.

Backgrounds Without Words

Last month, we received lots of requests for backgrounds without text or calendars on them. We’re so happy that you love the pictures chosen and are excited to let you know that “Second Screen” is a wordless option available for desktop.

This one is for the girls who are channeling summer getaway energy this June. Like, you want your life to look like the cover of a Carly Fortune novel or the set of a Nancy Meyers movie kind of vibes. Just staring at this peaceful dock in the middle of the workday will instantly make you feel like you’re in the middle of a stress-free lake vacation. If you haven’t heard, it’s sardine summer. The nostalgic sardine is showing up everywhere: cute tees, gallery walls, beaded bags, and even our wellness routines. On a recent episode of The Everygirl Podcast, dietician Valerie Agyeman shared that sardines are a surprising superfood you should include in your girl dinners (or sneak into pasta sauces) all season long. Whether you’re going to eat it or just lean into the aesthetic, we’re fully on board with sardine summer. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN!

In case you haven’t heard, summer 2024 is the summer of taking our PTO, turning off our laptops, and unplugging for some time in the sun and sand. Of course, our own beach self-care day involves a little more than half a watermelon and a beach towel—namely, a really good sun hat and a cute tote filled with copious amounts of bodega snacks—but hey, a girl can dream of being this easygoing. This image gives the OOO vibes we want to exude all summer long.

Can we all agree to make this the summer of self-care, and only say “yes” to routines, people, and plans that truly bring us joy? Personal trainer Laura Girard shared this important reminder on a recent episode of The Everygirl Podcast, and we can stand to be reminded every time we check our phones or open our laptops: if you feel the “ick” or something doesn’t make you feel good, that means it’s not meant for you.
